TCS Graduate Accomplishments
*Although the following list is not exhaustive, it is a sampling of achievements of graduates of Temple Christian School – Updated January, 2017
2010 graduate Valerie Yoder – was a National Merit Finalist, demonstrating through distinguished performance high potential for future academic achievement. Of the 13 high schools in Richland County, she was the only student to achieve this recognition that year! A Graduate of The Ohio State University, she is Now employed as an engineer at Gorman Rupp!
1985 graduate Deb Kurtz Demirjian – won the James Madison Fellow award – The James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation offers $24,000 James Madison Graduate Fellowships to individuals desiring to become outstanding teachers of the American Constitution at the secondary school level. As funding permits, the Foundation normally awards only one history teacher per state per year. Deb has received two masters degrees, from Bob Jones University and Ashland University and is currently pursuing her PhD.
2011 graduate Joel Baker scored a 36 out of 36 on the math portion of his ACT test!
1985 graduate Lisa Young – Received her Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Pensacola Christian College, a Masters Degree in Nursing from The Ohio State University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Duquesne University. She received her doctorate while maintaining a 4.0 grade point average!
1984 graduate Dr. Jim Lessig, 1986 graduate Dr. Jeff Zaika, 1992 graduate Dr. Tontoh Simpson – all are now area chiropractors
1998 graduate Dr Aaron Young – graduated with honors from Ohio University Of Osteo Medicine in 2010 and is now practicing in Internal Medicine in Toledo, Ohio
1987 graduate Eric Carroll – Engineer and Vice President of Sanoh America, Inc – is responsible for North American operations that include five manufacturing plants and three satellite operations with over 1,000 associates and sales that exceed $260 million
1986 graduate Dan Keiser – owner and Principal Architect of Keiser Design Group, founded in 1995. KDG is a Columbus, Ohio based group of architects, designers, and thinkers operating within the field of architecture, renovation, and development. Dan is a graduate of Kent State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 1992 and a Bachelor of Architecture in 1993.
2006 graduate Dr. Drew Martin – was named a Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities while at Grace College, graduated with a Biology major and Chemistry minor, finished medical school at Wright State University last May and is now in general surgery residency at Summa Health System in Akron.
2000 graduate John Carroll – In 2004, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and now works at Emerson Process Management.
2007 graduate Allison McGuire – was awarded an $8000 Presidential Scholarship to attend Ashland University, a renewable scholarship based on GPA and ACT scores. Next month, Allison is graduating from the University of Virginia Law School and will be working at Quinn Emmanuel, in Washington DC. Quinn Emanuel is the largest law firm in the world devoted solely to business litigation and arbitration. It is one of the most prestigious and selective law firms in the world.
1998 graduate Harley Snode is the Founding pastor of North Pointe Baptist Church in Wooster, Ohio
1995 graduate Steve Finley, is the missionary pastor of Redemption Baptist Church in Athlone, Ireland
2002 graduate Heather Thompson Marks, missionary in Teshio, Japan, along with her husband is preparing to reach the lost in Japan
1998 graduate Eric Humble is the Administrative Pastor here at MBT
2004 graduate Tyler Donough, is the assistant pastor of Southside Baptist Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina
1987 graduate Rob Kurtz, is the pastor of Mansfield Baptist Temple
2003 graduate Mindy Workman Houser, missionary in San Jose del Monte, Philippines, along with her husband has started Bahay Sibol, a home for orphaned and abandoned children
